I am going to cover the pro’s and con’s of autoresponseplus as an autoresponder.

ARP pro’s;

- local installation on hosting account
- you can import your subscribers into your autoresponder
- one time payment with no recurring subscription fees
- not a shared platform that is serving everyone else
- easy to use interface with great backup and support
- installation for first domain is free.
- subscription confirmation is par for the course to comply with CAN SPAM laws
- no additional costs for increased subscriber count or campaigns
- no message limitation
- choice between HTML and plain text mail – as per users choice
- attachments can be sent
-work seamlessly with sales scripts to make sure sales, membership and download follow up works seamlessly
- support is excellent

Cons;
- localised to your server installation if you get blacklisted you have to resolve the issue yourself
- script based installation
- menu is not that intuitive
- Online help is a bit lacking but use the downloaded PDF manual which is more detailed.
- If you dont have a dedicated server your deliverability can suffer.
- Check if your domain has been blacklisted
- no social networking integration.
- updates are slow (hopefully this will change with Neil joining ranks with Mark Joyner).

The biggest advantage is the creator Neil Morgan is now working with Mark Joyner to expand support and service to the customers. I also know that Mike Filsaime and Matt Bacak use ARP for their purposes.

I have only started to scratch the surface with what can be done. If you have used Autoresponseplus please let me know. There are other autoresponders and the biggest name out there are aweber and getresponse.

I chose ARP for the one time payment and it being script based and without the subscriber limits.
